Frequently
Asked
Questions
What is Online Psychotherapy?

Online psychotherapy is traditional cognitive
behavioral psychotherapy conducted online via
video conferencing.

What do I need?

A webcam and a high speed internet connection
such as dsl or cable.

Is this different from traditional psychotherapy?
At first I would like to say no.  However, my
experience is showing that it can actually be
better.  Yes, this is traditional counseling and my
modality is cognitive-behaviorally based.  But I am
seeing benefits from this process that were
unexpected.  When therapy can be convenient,
easy and comfortable, as online psychotherapy is,
it removes some of the barriers to effective work.
Therapy can be hard work...getting there doesn't
have to be.

What about security?

Sessions are conducted over a secure line.  Privacy
and confidentiality is paramount in this process.

Are you licensed?

Yes.  I am licensed as a LCSW in the state of New
York, the states highest level of licensure.   I have
over 15 years experience as a therapist.  I am a
member of the National Association of Social
Workers and I am fully insured.

Pricing?

In my office in New York, I charge $150 per session.
However, as online therapy reduces my costs, I am
to lower the fee to $100 per session.  This fee is paid
online at the time of service via PayPal.  You can
use your credit card or checking account.  At this
time I am not working with any insurance
companies  but I am able to provide an invoice of
services for you to submit to your insurance
company for possible access of out of network
benefits.
